A festive trip to the theatre
Recently, our Year 5 children travelled to the Derby Reach Conference Centre where, for the first time ever, they had the opportunity to watch not one, but two festive performances – The Snowman and The Bear and the Piano.The trip formed part of our music programme at Newhall Junior School, where we aim to ensure that all our pupils have the chance to experience a live music performance during their time with us.
Each performance was enhanced by a live orchestra, which amazed our children. They thoroughly enjoyed the production, engaging with the plot and singing along to some of the songs – particularly the festive classic Walking in the Air.
The standout highlight for many was when a snowman burst into the room, high-fiving all the children before dancing along to one of the songs!
It was a wonderful performance and a fitting way to conclude the term.
