A Journey Through History: Year 4's Roman Workshop

Year 4 pupils recently hosted an engaging Roman Workshop, inviting parents and carers to witness their impressive learning journey.

The children showcased their creativity by designing shields, with some opting for classical Roman styles while others embraced the Iceni-style Celtic designs.

In writing lessons, meanwhile, pupils crafted inspirational speeches, imagining themselves as Boudica rallying her troops against the Romans. Several brave pupils delivered their speeches on stage, captivating the audience with their passionate and fierce performances.

The workshop also featured a DT project where pupils built slingshot cars. They constructed the chassis and designed the exteriors, discussing various car features. Some chose streamlined designs, while others preferred sturdy vehicles.

The hall was packed with enthusiastic parents and carers, and the children relished the opportunity to share their work. The event concluded with a fun Roman quiz, testing whether the adults had been paying attention.

This workshop not only highlighted the pupils' creativity and hard work but also fostered a sense of community and shared learning.
