Spreading Christmas Joy in the Community

This academic year, in collaboration with Derbyshire Police, our Year 6 pupils are once again taking part in the Mini Police programme.

The initiative aims to introduce children to policing in a fun and educational way, with pupils engaging in a different session with PCSOs and police officers each week.

To conclude this term, the children discussed how they could spread Christmas cheer to our local community through random acts of kindness.

Supporting a local friendship group – reserved for older people who live on their own – pupils created and distributed homemade Christmas cards and invited members of this group into school.

Together, we sang some traditional festive songs and shared a cup of tea and a mince pie.

Our visitors were exceptionally complimentary about our children, who behaved impeccably and were outstanding role models for the school.

We look forward to welcoming our visitors back to Newhall for more carols and mince pies very soon.
