World Book Day Brings Inspiration to Life!

In early March, Newhall Junior School buzzed with excitement as children and staff dressed as their favourite inspirational figures for World Book Day.

This year, we celebrated the Little People, Big Dreams series, honouring artists, musicians and visionaries who have shaped our world.

Walking through the school corridors, you could see Stan Lee, Frida Kahlo and Bob Dylan among the famous faces in our classrooms. Each year group explored the lives and achievements of these icons through creative activities, discussions and fantastic artwork.

The excitement continued with live author events featuring Pamela Butchart and Stephen Mangan. Their energy and storytelling captivated everyone, inspiring a few budding authors.

No World Book Day at Newhall would be complete without our beloved Bookswap! The hall turned into a mini bookshop, with children eagerly swapping their pre-loved books for new reads. Seeing pupils engrossed in their new finds and discussing their favourite stories was heartwarming - a true testament to the power of books to spark joy and curiosity.

A huge well done to everyone for making this year’s World Book Day a phenomenal success. The creativity, enthusiasm and love of books on display were truly inspiring.

We can’t wait for our next literary adventure!
